Car sales grew 10.1% during the first six months of this year. Up to June, 734,649 passenger cars were registered, 67,000 more than in the same period last year. This supposes, in addition, that the pace of improvement of the automobile market in Spain is improved: in the same period of 2017 the increase in registrations was 7.1% and at the end of the year it was 7.7%, according to the data of the three employers of the sector.     The good performance of this market, despite the lack of public support, owes much to the pull of the sales channels to companies in general. In it, 211,439 cars were placed, 15.3% more than in 2017. This is what Raúl Morales, communication director of Faconauto says: "This march is due to the" pull "of the acquisitions made by the companies".   Somewhat less force has shown the channels for individuals and, above all, rental companies. In the first, the largest of all, the sale amounted to 337,056 passenger cars, 9.3% more than in 2017. In this segment there is a good acceleration of sales, because in the first six months of the previous year, the increase It remained at 2.4%. "The private channel continues to grow, in line with the general increase in the economy, although at a somewhat lower rate than we would expect and a somewhat higher growth would be desirable," says Noemí Navas, communication director of Anfac, the employer's association.   The rental companies, on the other hand, have had a more atonic behavior. Unlike what happened in previous years, the 186,202 units purchased represent the smallest increase by channels of the three existing ones, 6%.   By brands and models, again the VW group shows its strength in the Spanish market. Seat and Volkswagen are the two brands that have sold more vehicles during the first half of this year. The first, the Spanish brand, has registered 62.44 cars; Volkswagen, 59,713. The following is Peugeot.   With regard to the models of the same group lead the sales in Spain: León and Ibiza, Seat, and Polo, Volkswagen, are the best sellers. The first model that appears on the sales list, which does not belong to the VW corporation, is Sandero, from Dacia, belonging to the French automobile manufacturer, Renault.
